<p>Beginning January 1, 2021, TRICARE Select Group A retirees (if you or your sponsor's initial enlistment or appointment occurred before January 1, 2018) are required to pay enrollment fees in order to maintain TRICARE coverage: </p>

<p><strong>There are two provider types in the Philippines:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Philippine Preferred Provider Network (PPN) Providers</li>
<li> Certified Providers</li>
</ul>
<p>The Philippine Preferred Provider Network (PPN) is available to all TRICARE eligible beneficiaries, whether they are TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Select, or TRICARE for Life (TFL). These resources are intended for PPN Providers administering care to TRICARE Select Overseas and TFL beneficiaries who reside and/or seek care in the Philippines. These beneficiaries are encouraged to see a Philippine Preferred Provider, as out-of-pocket costs will be lower. At the time of the visit, Preferred Providers will ask the beneficiary to fill out an agreement to pay applicable cost-shares and deductibles.</p>
<p>Referrals for routine, urgent, specialty or preventive care are not required, but some services require prior authorization. PPN Providers should contact Global 24 Network Services or the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) Regional Call Center if they have any questions about services requiring authorization.</p>
<p>TRICARE beneficiaries who travel to the Philippines and seek urgent/emergent care will be able to get care from any Preferred Provider or Certified Provider, but out-of-pocket costs may be higher if care is received from non-PPN Providers. This includes TRICARE Retirees enrolled to TRICARE Prime (CONUS) who may travel to the Philippines. In the case of an emergency, these beneficiaries should go to the nearest emergency facility and contact Global 24 Network Services before leaving the facility, preferably within 24 hours or the next business day, to coordinate continued care.</p>

<h4>{margintop=-15;marginbottom=-7.5;fontweight=500:Philippine Provider Definitions:}</h4>
<p>{fontweight=500:<u>Preferred Provider:</u>} A Preferred Provider agrees to comply with certain TRICARE requirements and business processes in certain designated Philippine locations. Preferred Providers accept established reimbursement rates, so the beneficiary will be responsible only for applicable deductible and cost-shares. Deductible and cost-shares may be paid up front. If payment is not made up front, the Preferred Provider will collect only the applicable deductible and cost-shares after getting the TRICARE explanation of benefits. In addition, all Preferred Providers must comply with on-site verification and provider certification requirements.</p>
<p>{fontweight=500:<u>Certified Provider:</u>} A Certified Provider meets TRICARE required on-site verification and provider certification requirements. However, Certified Providers within designated Philippine locations don’t agree to the additional conditions necessary to be Preferred Providers. Certified Providers can invoice TRICARE for beneficiary claims. There may be no limit to the amount that Certified Providers charge in the Philippines. Beneficiaries are responsible for paying any amount that exceeds the TRICARE-allowable charge in addition to your deductible and cost-shares.</p>
<p>{fontweight=500:<u>Non-Preferred TRICARE Authorized Provider:</u>} TRICARE Authorized Providers in the Philippines include Preferred Providers and TOP Contractor Certified Providers. Any provider in the Philippines who is not part of the Preferred Provider Network or a Certified Provider is a non-approved TRICARE provider except for emergency care.</p>
<h4>{fontweight=500:Claims Processing and Reimbursements:}</h4>
<p>Beneficiaries who receive care from Preferred Providers in the Philippines will only be liable for normal cost-shares and copayments applicable to their specific beneficiary category or TRICARE health care program option. Out-of-pocket costs are lower when using a Preferred Provider.
