<h2><strong>NEAR PATIENT PROGRAM (NPP)</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Near Patient Program (NPP) is available to TRICARE Prime Overseas and TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas enrolled beneficiaries seeking care in one of the following ten (10) overseas locations:</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Please note: </strong>Chat is available to all TRICARE Prime Overseas and TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas beneficiaries enrolled in the Near Patient Program, who have had at least one authorization issued after January 1, 2020. <h4><strong>HOW DO NEAR PATIENT TEAMS ASSIST BENEFICIARIES? </strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">To assist eligible beneficiaries in navigating the overseas health care system, International SOS’ Near Patient Teams:</p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Explain the in-country health care system based on local expertise</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Break down local medical practices and help bridge cultural gaps and nuances </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Answer medical questions and help to improve patients’ understanding of care</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Provide comprehensive assistance from beginning to end of the patient journey </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Oversee inpatient admissions and collaborate with others, as appropriate</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Work with local providers to ensure medical records collection and resolution of non-clinical issues</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Our Near Patient Teams help monitor the medical care of all eligible TRICARE Prime Overseas and TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas beneficiaries in the designated NPP locations. Once you have been admitted to a hospital while overseas, we will obtain regular updates on your status from the treating physicians and nurses taking care of you and send these updates to your military health care provider. We are also available to assist you directly with any medical questions or concerns you may have. Our goal is to make sure you are fully informed to make your hospital stay as comfortable as possible. A representative of our NPP Team of bilingual nurses and doctors will either visit your bedside and/or contact you and your treating physician during your stay in order to obtain medical updates from your treating medical team. Our goals include a positive patient experience, assurance that you are receiving quality health care services, and facilitating a seamless transition of care between the host-nation provider and the military clinic.</p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Your local NPP Team can help you navigate the health care system, including overcoming language barriers and ensuring that you understand the health care being delivered to you overseas.</strong> </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The Near Patient Nurse may contact or visit you while you are admitted to a hospital. They will talk to your treating medical team and medically monitor your care when you are admitted to a civilian facility overseas and ensure that your Primary Care Manager is informed about your care (where applicable).</strong> </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The Near Patient Nurse may ask about your experience with the hospital staff and can address any concerns you may have regarding the care you receive.</strong></li>
